§ 163. Mr. Scholefield Allenasked the Minister of Supply and of Aircraft Production if he is aware that dwellinghouses which are the property of His Majesty's Government, and particularly those of the Ministry of Supply estate at Radway Green, Alsager. are let at rents which are much higher than the rents of comparable dwellinghouses owned and let by private landlords and much higher than the rents of comparable dwellinghouses let by local councils in the localities; and whether he will collaborate with other Ministers concerned, and particularly with 347W the Minister of Supply who has been supplied by the hon. Member for Crewe with facts and figures upon this matter, with a view to an early reduction of such rents.
§ Mr. LeonardThe information supplied by my hon. Friend is receiving sympathetic consideration, and my right hon. Friend is discussing with the other interested Departments whether the basis of assessment should be revised at all estates controlled by the Ministry of Supply and Aircraft Production. I will write to my hon. Friend as soon as a conclusion is reached. I hope it will not be long.
