§ THE EARL OF HAREWOODasked His Majesty's Government (1) whether it is in fact the policy of His Majesty's 190WA Government to place the London Museum "in the hands of the appropriate body that rules and governs London"; (2) whether the duties and responsibilities of the existing Trustees have been investigated; (3) whether the Trustees may have some information in greater detail before any action is taken.
LORD PAKENHAMThe Government has not contemplated disturbing the present autonomous position of the London Museum nor has any investigation been made into the duties and responsibilities of the Trustees. If at any time a change in the status of the Museum were contemplated the Trustees would most certainly be given all information at an early date and have every opportunity to express their views before any action were taken.
