§ Sir S. CrippsSeparate statistics cannot be supplied for the class of case to which my hon Friend refers. Permits and dockets are issued whenever we find on inquiry that the applicant is suffering from an illness which creates an exceptional and permanent need for additional furniture or bedding. Those special cases demand special treatment but, on an average, the time taken to deal with applications is three weeks.
