§ 123. Mr. C. Davies.asked the Attorney- General when the Government propose to restore to litigants the right to have their actions tried by judge and jury, and to restore the number of members of the jury in criminal trials to 12.
§ The Attorney-GeneralI am advised that the prewar position as regards civil and criminal cases could not at present be restored without grave inconvenience to all concerned. The position is, however, being watched by my noble Friend the Lord Chancellor and my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary, with a view to recommending the re-introduction of the prewar position as soon as conditions justify this course.
