Mr. Emrys Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland the number of soldiers now undergoing sentences of military imprisonment in Scotland; in which prisons they are serving their sentences; the number who have been punished since 1st January, 1946, for offences against prison regulations and the nature of the punishments.
§ Mr. WestwoodNinety-nine persons sentenced by military courts martial are detained in the following prisons

Aberdeen 4 Dumfries 3 Edinburgh 8 Glasgow (Barlinnie) 6 Greenock 3 Inverness 1 Perth 3 Peterhead 71 Total 99 One prisoner in Edinburgh Prison and 15 in Peterhead have been punished since 1st January, 1946, for offences against the prison regulations. The punishments, 181W which have varied with the nature of the offences, have included forfeiture of remission, forfeiture of privileges, dietary punishments, and sleeping on a wooden guard bed.
