§ Mr. EdeThere were four inspectors and in the financial year 1944–5 their salaries amounted to £4,235 and their expenses to £330. They also had the use of cars from the car pool of the Women's Voluntary Services. They paid 694 visits to registered places in 1944 and 861 in 1945. Four contraventions of the Act were discovered,-all of them in 1945.
