§ 1. Sir G. Foxasked the Assistant Postmaster-General what is the average period of delay between the application for, and the installation of, telephones for registered exporters; and if he will take steps to have these telephones installed more quickly, in order to help the export trade.
§ Mr. BurkeApplications for telephone service from firms who ask for priority on the ground that they are concerned in the export trade are referred to the Department of Overseas Trade and, if supported by that Department, are given priority. With such priority, service is normally provided by the Post Office within a month, except where plant is not yet available.
