§ 86. Mr. Hardyasked the Minister of Health who is responsible for the engagement of superintendent registrars, and registrars of births, marriages and deaths; and for payment of salaries and fixing conditions of service.
§ Mr. BevanAppointments and payments are made by the councils of counties, county boroughs and metropolitan boroughs. Conditions of service are laid down in the Registration Acts and Regulations and in administrative schemes made by the councils with my approval under the Local Government Act, 1929.
