§ 95. Mr. Footasked the Minister of Food what reduction in food stocks held in this country has been made since December, 1945.
§ Dr. SummerskillThe reduction in Ministry owned and controlled stocks of food and feeding-stuffs between end-December, 1945, and end-February, 1946, is provisionally estimated at 650,000 tons. My hon. Friend will, I am sure, realise that stock levels are always liable to seasonal fluctuations, and it would be misleading to draw inferences from short-term changes.
