HC Deb 04 March 1946 vol 420 c16W
107. Captain Blackburn

asked the Minister of Supply and of Aircraft Production whether the British Government will have to pay royalties to U.S. firms for the use of deep fermentation processes now in operation at Speke, Liverpool, for penicillin production.

Mr. Wilmot

No, Sir; but a lump sum was paid to a United States firm in return for their help in designing the plant and giving initial advice as how best to operate it.
