§ 91. Major Symondsasked the Minister of War Transport if in view of the fact that repatriated Government servants are foregoing their full leave in order to return to assist in the rehabilitation of Hong Kong, he will afford no less priority to the wives of such Government servants in his allotment of passages than he afforded to the wives of naval officers stationed at Hong Kong.
§ Mr. BarnesThe entry of wives and children of Government servants into Hong Kong has not hitherto been permitted. The ban has been lifted as from Friday, 1st March. So far as I am aware, no wives of Naval officers have been given passages from this country to Hong Kong. For the future, the priority to be accorded to wives and families, in relation to that accorded to other passengers, will be determined by the Colonial Office for civilians and the Admiralty for Naval officers.
