HC Deb 04 March 1946 vol 420 cc8-9W
Mr. D. J. Williams

asked the Minister of Agriculture how many catchment boards are operating in Wales; what local authorities are attached to them; and what precepts are paid by these authorities.

Mr. T. Williams

There are seven catchment boards operating wholly, and three partly, in Wales and Monmouthshire. Particulars of these, and of the precepts made by them on the county councils lying wholly or partly within their areas in the year ended 31st March, 1945, are set out in the statement that follows. The greater part of Wales comes under catchment board administration, but large parts of Brecon, Glamorganshire and Monmouthshire, and practically the whole of Cardiganshire and Pembrokeshire, are outside any catchment area. None of the four county boroughs in Wales lies within a catchment area.
