§ 97. Mr. Keenanasked the President of the Board of Trade why traders in large and small stores were unable to supply gas mantles to their customers in the Liverpool city area during the week ending 1st June last.
§ Mr. BelcherSupplies have been sent to Liverpool at intervals within the last three weeks, and will continue to be sent. If they are sold as soon as they reach the shops it is because of the heavy demand arising from the shortage, the reasons for which were given by my right hon. and learned Friend in his answer to my hon. Friend the Member for North Kensington (Mr. Rogers) on 13th March.
