§ 84. Mr. Jannerasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will indicate what steps he proposes to take to introduce legislation to replace the existing Cinematograph Films Act when it expires; and whether it is intended to set up a preliminary committee of inquiry.
§ Mr. MarquandThe present Cinematograph Films Act expires in 1948 and new legislation will be introduced at the appropriate time. Before deciding upon the provisions to be incorporated in a new Bill my right hon. and learned Friend proposes to give all interested parties a full opportunity of submitting their views on the subject, but he does not consider it necessary to set up a special committee of inquiry for this purpose.
