§ 1. Mr. W. Shepherdasked the Minister of Works if he will revise the arrangements whereby social service organisations have to tender for disused Army huts, etc.; and if he will substitute a system of definite charges so that these organisations may quickly obtain their requirements.
§ Mr. TomlinsonNo, Sir. A system of definite charges for disused Army huts would be most difficult to operate because of wide variations in type, condition, specification, cost of dismantling and cost of removal. Such a system would involve the separate valuation of each individual hut, and would be slower than the tender system.
