asked the Minister of Works what was the average comparable daily pay and output of bricklayers for 1930, 1936, and 1946, respectively.

Mr. Tomlinson

The comparable wage rates for an eight hour day in Grade A areas are as follow: 1930, 12s. 8d.; 1936, 12s. 4d.; 1946, 20s. I regret that no figures are available showing the average daily output in these years.
