§ Mr. Viantasked the Minister of Health whether he can supply any information in regard to the circumstances under which a 60-year old man was recently found to be suffering from smallpox at Rock Ferry, Birkenhead, while under observation for a different disease; and whether the delay in diagnosis was responsible for the subsequent fatal attack of smallpox contracted by his wife and three children.
§ Mr. BevanMy information is that the case mentioned was diagnosed as smallpox, of a relatively mild type, only on expert examination following the discovery of smallpox in other members of the family. The latter cases had not been vaccinated.
