These officers arc primarily concerned to secure adequate action in the areas of the 1,500 local authorities which have statutory obligations. The rat catching staff of110W my Department on the other hand are concerned with the killing of rats in Ministry depots and stores. The average of salaries paid to such people is £246 a year.
