HL Deb 23 July 1946 vol 142 c874WA
THE EARL OF MANSFIELD

asked His Majesty's Government if they are aware that even now local authorities remain in ignorance of the price they will have to pay for the wooden sections of prefabricated timber houses, although in many cases the houses are nearing completion; and when it is proposed to make available the required information, particularly as the lack of it prevents the local authorities from being able to prepare accurate estimates of the housing rates they will have to impose.

LORD HENDERSON

The Rural District Councils' Association have asked that a decision on the price which local 'authorities will have to pay for the superstructure and fittings of Swedish houses be postponed to enable further evidence about the cost of erecting these houses to be submitted.

House adjourned at twenty-three minutes past seven o'clock.
