§ Mr. BarnesOn 11th July 21 ocean ships were discharging and 13 loading in the port of Singapore. Owing to the great variety of traffic using the port and the difference in the size of ships, average figures for turn round would be misleading, but the turn round is improving. 289W Every effort is being made to relieve congestion by the supply of additional lighters and the repair of go-downs and other port facilities damaged during the war.
