§ Mr. HardmanNo, Sir. The managers of individual schools in the county of Herefordshire have discretion to fix the summer holidays to suit the needs of agriculture in their immediate area. The city schools' holidays have been fixed for August to suit the convenience of the majority of families, but parents who are taking their holiday at a different time may ask for leave of absence for children up to two weeks.
