§ Miss WilkinsonThere are in England and Wales 22 day special schools and 21 boarding special schools for deaf pupils. In the case of the day schools and a few of the boarding schools there are no waiting lists and pupils can be admitted without delay, but my information is that in most of the boarding schools applicants may have to wait for a year or even longer before admission. So far as I am aware no discrimination is made on grounds of the age of onset or cause of deafness.
