§ 84. Mr. G. Jegerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will take action to terminate the compulsory serving of sandwiches when drinks arc sold in catering establishments.
§ Mr. EdeI think my hon. Friend must have in mind Section 3 of the Licensing Act, 1921, which allows an extra hour for the sale of drinks with meals. I am informed that the Metropolitan Police are not aware of any recent instances of the use of this provision in connection with the sale of sandwiches.
