§ Mr. Chamberlainasked the Minister of Food whether arrangements have been made for the bulk importation of bananas from the Canary Islands and pineapples from British West Africa; and whether he is aware that quantities of both fruits are available, but will be wasted unless immediate action is taken.
§ Sir B. SmithI have arranged for the importation of all the bananas from the Canary Islands that are likely to be available. With regard to pineapples from British West Africa, my information is that none will be available for importation into this country.
