Roberts asked the Secretary of State for War how many separate establishments are held by his Department in the county of Merioneth; what is the location and acreage of each of them; and whether any extensions of existing establishments or opening of new ones are proposed.

Five training areas are held in Merionethshire either as War Department estate or requisitioned under Defence Regulation 51:

Anti-tank Range, Harlech—1,155 acres.

Advanced Handling and Field-craft school. Trawsfynidd—8,200 acres.

Training Area. Barmouth Promenade—-I acre.

H.A.A. Practice Camp, Tonfanay—2124 acres.

Towyn Rifle Range—80 acres.

No extensions to existing training establishments are proposed nor is the opening of any new training establishment contemplated in the county of Merioneth.
