HC Deb 26 February 1946 vol 419 c357W
Sir W. Smiles

asked the Secretary of State for War if he is aware that there have been many complaints from the Down County Council to the military authorities in Northern Ireland, regarding cylindrical concrete blocks and barbed-wire obstructions on roads in County Down; and if he will take the necessary steps to have these removed immediately as they are a danger to the public and prevent farmers complying with hedge-cutting regulations.

Mr. Lawson

The question of responsibilities and procedure for securing the removal of temporary defence works in Northern Ireland is under discussion.
