Mr. McAdam

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he has considered the resolution passed at a mass meeting of Jewish residents in Salford; and what is his reply to the resolution, particularly that part which refers to an extension of the categories.

Mr. Ede:

I have noted these representations, but as already stated, I regret that I cannot consider any extension of the existing categories until experience has shown what number of persons are likely to come to this country under the Scheme which the Government has authorised.
