asked the Assistant Postmaster-General whether he is now prepared to cancel the plans to abolish the sub-Post Office in Manchester Street, Oldham.

Yes, Sir. In response to representations made by both the hon. Members for the borough and by various local bodies, I have decided to maintain a Post Office either at, or near to, the site of the present office.
