§ Colonel J. R. H. Hutchisonasked the Minister of Labour the number of men employed in the building industry in Scotland on 31st December, 1945.
§ Mr. IsaacsAs I have already informed the hon. and gallant Member, the only available building industry figures for Scotland relate to last July. I can not make any precise estimate of the number of insured men aged 16 and under 65 in employment in the building industry in Scotland at 31st December but it is probably of the order of 48.000 to 50,000.
