§ Sir W. Smithersasked the Minister of Fuel and Power what quantity of coal is still lying stored in Army dumps throughout the country; and why this is 64W not being released for the use of the public.
§ Mr. ShinwellThe stocks of coal held by the Army amount to 276,000 tons. Apart from small local surpluses which will be disposed of under normal arrangements these stocks will be used to meet the greater part of the Army's requirements during the remainder of the winter thereby releasing coal for the general public from current production.
