§ 74. Mr. Spenceasked the President of the Board of Trade the average monthly value of knitted outerwear produced in Great Britain; and the percentages allocated for home consumption and for export.
§ Mr. BelcherValue figures exist only for hosiery production as a whole, and not for separate types of knitwear. There are no export allocations for knitted outerwear; instead, there is a limit beyond which export licences are not granted. This varies with the kind of knitwear, but averages rather less than 10 per cent., by quantity, of production.
