LORD PAKENHAMOnly five Infantry regiments of the Territorial Army are unconnected with Regular Infantry regiments. These five are being retained, three as Infantry battalions and the other two in a changed role.
It will not be possible to retain all the independently named Territorial battalions attached to Regular Infantry regiments; the intention is to continue at least one of the Territorial battalions in each regiment.
