§ 104. Mr. D. Marshallasked the Minister of Transport how many tons of bunkers have been purchased by British shipping in hard currency in the last six months; and what was the cost expressed in dollars.
§ Mr. BarnesExact figures are not available but I estimate that in the six months ended 30th November, 1946, British ships purchased about 200,000 tons of bunker coal in ports in the United States and Canada. The cost would be about 2½ million United States and Canadian dollars.
