§ Miss WilkinsonOn the general Question, I would refer the hon. Member to the answer which I have given to the Member for Cardiff, Central (Mr. G. Thomas), and others. The suggestion of 255W a block grant to universities and colleges would not be practicable, because applications must be determined and grants assessed by the Ministry.

Mrs. Manningasked the Minister of Education what representations she has received from the ex-Service students' committee of the National Union of Students, with reference to current delays in the payment of grants under the Further Education and Training Scheme; and what steps she is taking to remedy the individual hardships and anxieties which arise as a result of such delays.
