§ 6. Mr. G. Thomasasked the Minister of Education whether, when the school-leaving age is raised to 15 years, she proposes to raise the minimum age at which a child may be employed in public enter- 254W tainments under Regulation 1353 of her Department.
§ Miss WilkinsonI am advised that the minimum age at which a child may be employed in public entertainments as fixed by Section 22 of the Children and Young Persons Act is not affected by the raising of the compulsory school age under the Education Act, 1944. Legislation would, therefore, be necessary in order to raise the age for employment in entertainments.
