Morrisonasked the Minister of Agriculture if he will state, as regards the county of Gloucester, how much agricultural land remains in the occupation of Government Departments; how much agricultural land has been released from Government occupation since the end of the war with Germany; and how much of such released land has been restored to the production of food.
§ Mr. T. WilliamsThe acreage of agricultural land in Gloucestershire remaining in the occupation of Government Departments, other than my Department, is 11,802 acres. This figure includes 5,980 acres held by the Air Ministry and made available for agricultural use, and also parts of airfields totalling 2,643 acres under concrete or buildings. 3,463 acres have been released since May, 1945, over 2,000 acres of which have so far been restored to food production.
