Mr. Creech JonesSince the ordinance came into force in January last, up to the end of October corporal punishment has been awarded to six persons. I am closely watching the operation of this ordinance in consultation with the Governor, and I earnestly hope that the ordinance will lapse at the end of the period for which it was enacted.
