HL Deb 10 December 1946 vol 144 c766WA
LORD SANDHURST

asked His Majesty's Government, to what police schools Ministry of Transport driving licence examiners were sent for a refresher course; how many were sent to each school; have any adverse reports been received and, if so how many and from which schools; have any schools not submitted reports; what action has been taken with regard to those, if any, about whom an adverse report has been received.

LORD WALKDEN

The driving examiners went to the Metropolitan and Lancashire Police Driving Schools for their refresher courses. Fifty-nine examiners attended the driving school at Hendon and 115 the driving school at Preston. Formal reports were not submitted but certain comments based on police experience and standards will be taken into account in determining the allocation of duties to examiners who have taken the refresher courses.
