§ Mr. SteeleClaims to family allowances are still being received at the rate of nearly 10,000 a week, and it is therefore impossible for me to give the assurance asked for. Every effort is, however, being made to clear as quickly as possible claims which have been held up because detailed investigations have been necessary.
