§ 104. Major Legge-Bourkeasked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that grants to disabled men to assist them in setting up in business are not paid if a business is set up during the period between disablement and registration as disabled; and if he will consider revising the regulations so as to make grants payable in these circumstances.
§ Mr. IsaacsI am not quite clear what the hon. and gallant Member has in mind. In order to be eligible for a resettlement grant as a disabled person it is not necessary for an applicant to be registered under the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act, 1944, as long as he satisfies the statutory definition of disablement laid down in Section 1 of the Act. If the hon. Member is thinking of any particular case and will let me have details I should be glad to look into it.
