HC Deb 04 December 1946 vol 431 cc100-1W
117. Lieut.-Commander Joynson-Hicks

asked the Secretary of State for Air how and when it is proposed to employ those officers who, as a result of their ability and experience, have been selected for C.F.S. and T.C.U. courses, have consequently had to sign on for additional time but have now been sent on indefinite leave before completing their courses.

Mr. P. Noel-Baker

We have no record of any officer on indefinite leave from either of these courses. Earlier in the year the transport conversion units were unable to accept all who had been selected for the course, and a number of aircrews had to be sent on leave. Since then we have had to reduce the capacity of the transport conversion units and those who have been unable to complete the course, including those who were sent on leave, have been released or given other employment.
