asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if there is still a Polish welfare section in Madrid and how is it being subsidised.

Mr. Dalton

Yes, Sir, but it is intended to close is at the end of this year, and we are in touch with the Inter-Government Committee with a view to their becoming responsible for the finance and resettlement of these Poles. The present cost to His Majesty's Government is about £2,000 a month.
