HC Deb 02 December 1946 vol 431 c3W
27. Mr. Renton

asked the Minister of Food whether he is aware that last Christmas in Huntingdonshire the ingredients for Christmas puddings were supplied to local wholesalers only about two days before Christmas which was too late to ensure effective distribution to the public before Christmas; and whether he will en sure that this year supplies are sent to the local wholesalers at the earliest possible data.

Mr. Strachey

The special allocation of dried fruits was made on 13th October and should by now be in retail shops. A further allocation was made on 10th November and should be available well before Christmas.
