§ 48. Mr. Reevesasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether any machinery has yet been established whereby persons resident in the British Commonwealth and British subjects elsewhere who lost their property in Germany as a result of Nazi persecution or discrimination, can forward claims to Germany for the restitution of such property.
§ Mr. J. HyndArrangements have now been made which will enable such persons to forward through official channels, claims in respect of property in any of the zones in Germany. These claims will be placed on record with the appropriate authorities in Germany pending the establishment of machinery for dealing with them—a matter now under joint con- 235W sideration by the occupying Powers, A Press notice has been issued giving full particulars of the form in which such claims should be made; copies of this notice can be obtained on application to the Control Office for Germany and Austria, Norfolk House, St. James's Square, S.W.I.
