Mr. Warbey

asked the Minister of Labour how many persons in Luton and Dunstable have registered under the Disabled Persons Act; how many of these were unemployed at the time of registration; and how many of those who were unemployed at the time of registration have subsequently obtained employment.

Mr. Isaacs:

The number of persons registered as disabled under the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act on the 18th March, 1946, at Luton and Dunstable was 2,539 and 285 respectively. Statistics relating to the second and third parts of the Question are not available, but the number of registered disabled persons un employed at these two offices at the above date was 123 and 14 respectively.

The number of persons registered as disabled under the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act at the 18th March, 1946, was 402,190. Statistics relating to the second and third parts of the Question are not available, but the number of registered disabled persons unemployed at the above date was 51,816.
