§ 68. Mr. Willisasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps are being taken for the provision of unorthodox types of permanent houses in Edinburgh.
§ Mr. Buchanan:The corporation are now erecting 410 Orlit concrete houses and 100 Swedish timber houses. I discussed the question of the adoption of other forms of non-traditional building with the housing committee on 8th April, and I understand that the corporation are considering further projects of this kind. I propose to invite the corporation to share in the allocation of 5,000 B.I.S.F. houses which will shortly be offered by the Government to the larger local authorities in Scotland.
