HC Deb 09 April 1946 vol 421 c301W
103. Mr. Osborne

asked the President of the Board of Trade how many firms have been compelled to reduce output on account of shortage of fuel; and what industries and areas have been most affected.

Mr. Belcher:

The loss of industrial production through shortage of coal has been negligible but stocks in all areas have fallen to a very low level. The regional boards for industry are paying close attention to the industrial demands for coal in their regions.
