64. Mr. Baker Whiteasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that there is a shortage of perambulators in East Kent; that the main supplier in Canterbury has been given a quota of eight perambulators per month for the whole of 1946 and that this shop alone has a waiting list of 40 mothers; and whether steps will be taken to increase the supply of perambulators to East Kent.
§ Mr. Belcher:I have no reason to believe that East Kent is not receiving its proper share of supplies. Production of perambulators is increasing as fast as supplies of labour and materials allow, and Kent. like other counties. will benefit from this increase.
