HC Deb 04 April 1946 vol 421 c240W
Mr. R. Adams

asked the Minister of War Transport if he will consider the provision of improved travelling facilities in the area of Tooting Broadway during rush hours, particularly when local greyhound racing tracks are also in operation.

Mr. Barnes:

The London Passenger Transport Board inform me that their services in the area of Tooting Broadway are adequate for ncrmal requirements, but that there is pressure when greyhound racing is taking place at Wimbledon Stadium. To meet the position the Board are providing as many additional vehicles as possible between the Stadium and the Broadway.

Mr. R. Adams

asked the Minister of War Transport if he is able to give any indication when the tramway routes converging on Tooting Broadway are likely to be replaced by trolley-bus services.

Mr. Barnes:

The matter is under consideration by the London Passenger Transport Board and I am not yet in a position to make a statement on the matter.
