asked the Minister of Health how many doctors have been released from the Armed Forces from VE-Day to date; and how many still remain in the Services.

Mr. Bevan:

The number of doctors released since VE-Day is: Navy, 1,411; R. A. F., 1,054 (in both cases to 15th March); Army, 5,907 (to 25th March). The numbers serving at those dates were, respectively, 1229, 1,602 and 6,371.
